Stefan Domino, Ph.D.
CEO/President
Stefan Domino, Ph.D. Dr. Domino’s research interest rests within low-Mach fluid mechanics methods development for marine ethology-based systems that drive the coupling of mass, momentum, species and energy transport. Stefan is the founder of the Institute, is a former Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories, and supports Stanford's School of Engineering as Adjunct Professor (Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering, ICME) and the Center for Turbulence Research as a Senior Research Fellow (visiting Stanford Scholar, Spring 2026).
Steve Bova, Ph.D.
Vice President
Steve Bova, Ph.D. Dr. Bova is interested in the development and implementation of computational methods for modeling a wide variety of complex physical systems, with an emphasis on fluid flow, heat transfer, and high performance computing.
Clare Amann, Ph.D., MBA
Treasurer
Clare M. Amann, Ph.D, MBA. Dr. Amann is a trained Ph.D. chemist with a lifelong interest in science and nature. Clare's diverse education and experience bridges science and business, allowing for the fostering of key relationships, and providing creative solutions to the complex business development needs that arise in a multidisciplinary, science-oriented organization. Clare also supports the crafting of multi-lab, multi-institutional research strategies.
Matt Barone, Ph.D.
Secretary
Matt Barone, Ph.D. Dr. Barone’s is interested in the modeling and simulation of complex fluid flow with an emphasis on aerodynamic performance, analysis, and methods development.
Sedona Domino, B.A
Junior Field Ethologist
Sedona Domino, B.A. Sedona is interested in marine ecology, fisheries management, and animal behavior. Ms. Domino provides COMERI the valued ecological and environmental background (i.e., species focus) necessary for the completion of computational, marine-focused research plans. She has a strong interest in octopuses and the behavior of marine species that has been motivated by the completion of an undergraduate thesis on octopus aquaculture and fisheries at UC Santa Barbara. Sedona is also COMERI's resident artist, with works showcasing Mola Mola and the California Two-Spot octopus social outreach graphical abstracts.
